Facilities
In addition to the facilities in each of the homes, our residents have access some of these additional areas based at The Rookery:

- Learning room
- Medical/Treatment Room
- BBQ area
- Woodlands
- Summer house
The fully equipped learning room has a touch screen computer where residents can regularly enjoy all types of lessons from letter writing to languages, literacy and history.
We also offer speech and language therapy with a communications specialist to promote all avenues of communication with residents with hearing and speech difficulties. We run regular sign-along sign language courses for staff and residents that enables simple but comprehensive communication within the home and helps everybody to gain confidence and learn from each other.
Many residents also choose to attend local colleges for courses in computing, communication skills, cookery, swimming, horse riding, woodworking and various other activities.
There is a hairdressing salon/treatment room, with a hairdresser visiting once a week. The treatment room is also used for aromatherapy, foot spa's, hand massage, chiropody and a variety of other treatments.
We have an excellent fleet of company vehicles and support residents who regularly choose to go on excursions to visit other venues and centres such as to the theatre, galleries, library or on shopping trips.
Currently all Janith Homes’ residents benefit from a care package including day service provision from Barrington Farm adjacent to The Rookery in Walcott.
