About Us

Janith Homes Ltd was founded in 1978 by the parents of the present owner. The home began when the family invited a small group of adults with learning disabilities to live with them at The Rookery. Over the years it has developed and grown into a successful company and now provides high quality accomodation for over 50 individuals with varying degrees of learning disability.

The Janith Homes ethos is to provide quality care by placing the welfare of the residents first. Our homes support residents to live as independently as possible. We encourage integration into the community to access the social, educational and working opportunities available. A commitment to environmental issues and an awareness of those responsibilities is built into company policies and procedures.

We have created a settled and harmonious atmosphere where we embrace and support personal diversity empowering the whole individual.

We offer an environment that fosters personal development and helps residents make their own unique contribution to daily life, without pressure to succeed at a set rate or in a certain manner.

The excellent accommodation, care provision and day services available undoubtedly makes Janith Homes one of the finest independent facilities for care in the UK as born our by our Care Quality Commission reports, Investors in People status and many other testimonials.

Aims of our homes

Janith Homes aims to provide the highest standard of accommodation, care and positive outcomes for our residents.

It is our belief that no matter what a persons’ existing ability is, every individual has potential beyond their assumed level. We provide our residents with the comfort and space to achieve new goals and live a meaningful life to the full.

These needs and realistic goals are identified through “person centred care plans”. Residents participate in choosing a keyworker to take a more personal approach to their individual requirements. Staff are trained and supervised to mentor and support residents to reach their personal potential and lead a fulfilled life with dignity, purpose and opportunity.
